Hey there, Justine here, and I’m thrilled you’re on my Speaking page!

As a blogger and consultant, I’ve given 50+ talks and workshops across Metro Manila on both the operational side and the inspirational side of job hunting and careers. And occasionally on freelancing, consulting, and niche content marketing.

When crafting my talks, I always try to put myself in the audience’s shoes. If you’re like me, you’ve sat through too many presentations where the speaker monotonously read off their slides and bored + frustrated the audience. I avoid making that mistake by walking my audience through stories that capture exactly what I’m trying to teach them.

My biggest strength as a speaker is taking complex topics and simplifying them, with the aim of leaving the attendees with practical insights they can implement right away. I’ve been told that I consistently deliver bold, content-packed, and surprisingly funny talks, full of said actionable details and harsh truths of the terrible reality we all live in. But I’m so bubbly that my delivery makes everything feel less bleak. Slight win!

If you’re interested in inviting me to speak at your school, university, organization, conference, or company, the instructions are down below. And if you’re not, well, take a look around and maybe it’ll inspire you to invite me over.

UP JPIA Accounting Career Executive (ACE) Summit 2019

Getting Justine as a speaker was really a great feat for the team given her experience and knowledge in the subject matter, which was proven true as she delivered a comprehensive talk on job hunting and building one’s resume customized especially for accountancy fresh grads.

Also, working with her (and Gwen) had been a breeze as she efficiently communicated with our team, outlining pertinent details of the event and setting up phone call meetings in order to make sure the event goes smoothly..

Why Get Me as a Speaker?

🤔 You want your audience to walk away with insights they can apply and next steps to use in their personal lives. I love breaking things down into step-by-steps. All my talks are structured that way.

🤔 You want your talks to have real lasting impact and impression on your audience. (I have been told many times that my voice is unforgettable, once you hear me speak, you’ll read everything I write in this voice.

Why Not to Get Me?

🛑I don’t speak fluent Tagalog. Unfortunately I can’t speak straight Tagalog. Understand it, yes. Speak Taglish, sometimes. But I mainly speak in straight English which might pose a problem with some audiences.

🛑You don’t appreciate stories. I love data, especially if it comes in percentage form aggregated from the shared experience of a large sample size. But what I love even more is telling stories about the people who lived it.

🛑You don’t want someone who breaks things down to step by step. The reason the blog exists is to provide step-by-step help because that’s my ideal way of processing information. So my talks, even the ones that are more inspirational, tend to have a Step 1 - 2 - 3 in it.

🛑You hate audience engagement. Talking to people is better than talking at people, in my opinion. And Q&A is my favorite part of every talk, so I try to incorporate at least 10 minutes for it. Plus I stick around up to 20 minutes after my talk to answer any questions from the audience that they were too shy to share to the crowd.

Makesense Philippines Workshop

Justine made us realize that we can generate interest from the public even without an actual working product yet. She was quick to think of possible strategies to gain support from our potential clients, in both the consumer and enterprise level. Especially for us bootstrapping startups, her growth hacking tips were very much welcome as we try to increase our traction for our business in the most cost efficient way. Having said that, I would definitely recommend her to other startups given her digital marketing expertise

Possible Speaking Topics

2019 SPEAKING TOPICS

I love giving talks, especially to a Gen Z audience. I’m available as a speaker, panelist, workshop host for the following topics (or similar):

💬 JOB HUNTING BEST PRACTICES (RESUMES, INTERVIEWS, AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN)

💬 DESIGNING YOUR CAREER (STARTING WITH INTERNSHIPS AND TESTING CAREERS)

💬 NICHE CONTENT MARKETING (WHERE TO START, HOW TO RAMP UP, WITHOUT USING A TON OF RESOURCES)

If you’ve got another topic in mind that you’d want me to talk about, I’ve love to know about it too. So, feel free to get in touch, even if it’s with a vague idea, and let’s craft a great talk for your audience together!

UP CAPES Alternative Classroom Learning Experience 2019

I was able to learn how to include in my resume the headship positions that are not directly relevant to the field I'm applying for. I also learned how to properly use figures, rates and numbers as part of the description of all work experiences and extra curricular activities.

Right after the session, I immediately reviewed my resume and made a lot of revisions to improve it. I omitted some parts of my resume such as the objective and some headship positions that are not relevant for most recruiters. I also made a lot revisions with the description of my work experiences.

Overall, Justine's talk really helped me organize my resume. I would definitely want to have a personal consultation with her in the future to make my resume better and get more job offers.
